Every little girl dream about the “Big Day”. What is she going to wear? Who is going to be there, her favorite color, and so on…? Now, let us think for a moment, what is to wear is always the bigger question. Sometimes, what the girl wants, does not fit her silhouette or it is just not the right dress for her occasion.
So how can we pick the right dress then?
First, we must find our best assets and decide to showcase one or two of them. For example, if you have beautiful neck and shoulder, you might want to wear a strapless or a dress with a wide décolleté to show them off. If you do not like your harms, wear a dress with sleeves to cover them. Think about showing what you want and hide or camouflage the one that you do not want people to see.
Then look at our body shape. Are we straight, bigger on top or the bottom? Do we have a cinched waistline? Take time to play with our silhouette when we are trying on dresses. See if it compliments your body.
Take the venue in consideration. You are not going to have a long train at the beach. Sometimes it is best to have two dresses. Consider one formal for the church and the other more relax for the party so you can dance all night long.
Most importantly, you must feel good in your dress. Whether it is your grand Ma dress or the new Oscar De La Renta, you need to be comfortable and happy when you’re in it.
Remember, that this is about you and who you want to look like on your Big Day.
Have your dress your way. Perfectly sized for your body! Now, go and say, ‘I do!’ to your dress.
